These days it’s easy to get stuck with lots of coronavirus news. Lockdown makes us get adjusted to the new way of living. Annoying question what to occupy yourself with keeps arising day by day. This is why I decided to gather up as many whittling projects as possible in one place. So you could cheer yourself up with something interesting as well as I could do the same by getting back to the article time after time. Moreover, I believe it would be useful even after the lockdown. So make sure to share it somewhere on your page or just save it to bookmarks.
Quick Wood Recommendation
You might need to get some wood for the projects below. I would highly recommend getting basswood as it is the softest one. It’s easy to carve and color. It actually feels like butter. 1. Wood Spirit Carving Project
It’s my favorite actually. I love everything connected with woods, all kinds of fairy tales and stories. This is why the wood spirit is number one on my list of whittling projects. I did one a long time ago. Probably, it’s time to make one these days. I checked a bunch of tutorials on Youtube to find the most informative ones. The following wood spirit carving tutorial is actually the best one. Check it out and message me with your favorite ones if you have one.
2. Wood Bear Carving Project
Who doesn’t love bears right? First, teddy bears come to mind. While bears out of wood can be even better. Moreover, they last longer as wood is more durable. I made a lot of bears. I gifted some wood bears to my niece and friends’ kids. They always love getting small bears from me. A great wood carving tutorial on wood bear carving is made by Doug Linker. He’s a talented carver sharing a lot of valuable content with his subs. It’s not that easy to find a good tutorial on wood bear whittling with hand tools as mostly, people prefer making large bears with a chainsaw and other electric tools. I’m not a fan of electric tools, I always stick to hand tools.
3. Wooden Gnome Whittling Project
The same love to fairy tales here. Wooden gnome as well as wood spirit, and small bear carvings follow the same style of caricature carving. Mostly such small whittling projects take not so much time. So you can do them one by one.
Wood whittling is extremely relaxing. It can help to go through various difficulties in life. While it’s a matter of time to learn a new hobby.
